Study Visit: "Eastern and Western Experience Sharing of Youth Environmental Citizenship"
On 26-30 September the Union "Green Way" in collaboration with the British environmental organization "Look-East" has organized the Study Visit: "Eastern and Western Experience Sharing of Youth Environmental Citizenship" in Georgia. The Study Visit was financed by the "Youth in Action" Programme of the European Commission. The study visit was aiming to introduce Western and Eastern European youth environmentalists to the projects and everyday activities of Georgian environmental non-governmental organizations and to give participants from a wide range of European and Caucasus countries an understanding of Georgian culture and realities.
For this purpose, the participants from the different youth environmental organizations (UK, Sweden, Armenia, Czech Republic, Belgium, Russia, and Ukraine) have visited environmental organizations acting in Georgia such as: CENN (Caucasus Environmental NGO Network), Greens Movement of Georgia/Friends of the Earth, WWF-Caucasus Programme Office, Biofarming Association "Elkana"; Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park Administration.
During the study visit the representatives of Western and Eastern European organizations had the possibility to establish close contacts with Georgian NGOs and discuss possible future projects. The Study Visit was comprising of both formal meetings and informal events that helped participants to better understand Georgian life-style and find not only business partners but also the friends.
